Red Texas all black

No, the even more simple question is why make a post with your iphone about what you just saw and you didn't bother taking a pic? There could be a couple of reasons... In order to answer this correctly, we would need a photo.

Could be red devil. I've seem one labeled as a red texas before

Well I didn't whip my phone out cause I was holding my sleeping child and I was sort of rushing. I wasn't planning on buying it so it wasn't a big deal. Was just curious for future reference.

Ok... sorry for being an ***hole. From a texas, to a midevil, to a flowerhorn... none of these fish are all black. As juvies they are a dark grey(or light grey) with black bars(even when stressed). I guess there possibly could have been an oddball thrown from the parents. Maybe poor water conditions had it temporarily looking that way?

OAN the fading procedure goes from a darker color to a lighter color... So it fading to all black is not something that would normally happen. Not saying that's what you thought... just throwing it out there. But who knows with hybrids these days...

Lol yeah it's no big deal bro. It was more of a dark Dempsey color. Not actually black. I know they fade from dark to light which is why I asked. It's a young fish so I thought maybe it would fade to a lighter color as it matures. If I hadn't already grabbed a few I might've tried it. I'm sure it's one of the flowerhorns that petsmart has been getting in as red Texas. There's a sticky here on it. So I was wondering if I passed up on a potentially really nice fader flowerhorn Or if it was just a stressed fish. I know a pic would really help but I was just wondering likely hood. Because I would vonsider moving around some stock to accommodate him. 😉

Right on man. Now I understand your reason for posting better. I wish we could have seen it too... the pic would have saved us these 100's of words. Lol
