My Red Texas and Green Texas cichlids are mating and it's quite violent. I don't have any separators in the Tank, so the other fish have gone to one side while the Texas family has gone to the other. No one has gotten hurt and the other cichlids know enough to stay away. So to the question is: What is the proper color of the eggs indicating that they might hatch and if they don't turn this proper color for hatching, I was thinking of scraping them out to stop the violence. Is it also possible that the male could be sterile because he is a hybrid? Both Male and Female Texas cichlids are protecting the eggs like they were all ready babies. I do have a small Tank just in case they do hatch. I will post Pictures hopefully clear enough for you guys so you can give me some recommendations. Here is a video also

They are very aggressive parents. You may lose some fish because of the pair or from them darting away and injuring themselves on those rocks. If you want fry, leave the eggs alone and let the parents take care of them. The parents will remove the bad eggs so stop fungus from spreading to the good ones. If you don't want any fry, you can remove the eggs. But doing that is only temporary, in a few weeks the pair will spawn again. Once they have fry swimming around the tank things will get pretty bad for their tankmates.
