question...

- i've had my little juvie red texas for about 2 months now.. hes getting better when i first got him he was about 1inch now hes about 3-4 but i dont see no COLOUR whats going on! i've been feeding colour pellets and shrimp etc.. nothing.. =/ any help? on colouring him up?

Do you mean he hasn't "peeled" his greenish color yet, or that he's just paler and you want that RED color?

I've found that two things play a huge role in my Red Texas' color: environment and stress. Diet doesn't make much of a difference in his color, but he gets very pale when he's stressed out. Environment goes hand-in-hand with that, I think. Dark decor and a dark background on the tank seem to give them a sense of security, and mine colored up nicely after I changed his substrate to black sand, and added a black background.

And also, a lot of it has to do with the genes. Some RTs just never get that red color, and stay a light peachy color.

sir i think pellets or feeds will only help the enhancement but the real thing is its all about your FH. if your FH has the blood that it will colored up(if thats what you want then). its all up to your FH. am i clear>?
