I bought a "red Texas" about 6 months ago and I dont think she's fading at all. Was 3" and now 6" but still no fading. IDK, I guess that's why hybrids are looked down upon because there's too many variations and looks even with the same F1 parents. Two different species of F1 parents can spawn many many dif. variations. Unfortunatly for me I got a bad one I guess

My question is do all Red Texas fade?

This is actually taken 3 months ago.

Not all red texas fade. When you see those really nice bright red ones they are the cream of the crop. What were the parents?

Yeah, not all fade.I'm waiting for mine as well -though its just 3". I've heard of some cichlids finally fading only after growing significantly larger than even 6"..., so u still have a chance :)
Good luck.

It might fade it might not, only time will tell. But I think he is very pretty just the way he is.
