I want to start a little red Texas project just for fun. I would be obtaining a male Texas and female blood parrot and be breeding them. They are both around 5".

My questions are would it be better to have 2 female blood parrots and 1 Texas together and let them pair. Or is 1 and 1 okay.

Also would it be better to have 2 50-75 gals one for breeding and one for fry. Or one 120 gal and then a couple 20 gals.

Yes I understand that. I know that f1 will only have a couple good looking fish if not. That I will have to breed back to parents and to each other for a few generations to finally get consistency with decent looking fish.

And thanks for the link

Also if I wanted to achieve SB RT would that be achieved my maybe getting a fertilw male from the batch and back cross to the female parrot. Or would it be better to bred bp x sb tex then breed back to the father. And then selective breed from there on

dont breed nothing back. It's going backwards. Move forward.
