took them less then 3 weeks to breed. Have you tried the the cooler temp water change? A cooler temperature water change simulates a cool rain shower and also stimulates the fish to get in the Mood!!! Just a little cooler than the Tank temp...not too cold.

3 weeks!!! wow ... that was really quick!!

Yep have tried increasing temps slowly too get metabolism going then decreasing very slowly as well. Also i always use cooler than tank water with water changes too stimulate breeding. My mbunas breed each month like crazy from this :)

Ive had mine from Pat for 6 weeks and i think somethings really wrong with the male. Not sure if you read the huge SRT transhipping thread i started but when the male arrived he was on its side bag leaking water everywhere, overheated with 4 heating packs, the 8" male was cramped into a tiny bag and wasnt moving and barely breathing.

After 5-10mins with some prime and powerhead with clean water he started too wake up but too this day he doesnt eat much at all, a few pellets here and there, always hides and is extremely skittish unlike the female SRT who eats non stop, very active, lets me pet her, really chubby and colourful unlike the male who is skinny, scared and not colourful :/

I did treat the male for ips and also whitespot disease.Whitespot is better but not sure if he had ips in first place since noticed these tex seem to have similar slightly sunken in stomachs... I wonder if transhipping could have messd a fish up permanantly, to the point it changes personality, metabolism and possibly interests in breeding as such??

Thanks again m8 and hope your making good money on them SRT babies :)
