Red Texas temperament?

I've been doing research on red texas cichlids in the hopes of getting a nice male but I've been seeing mixed opinions on their temperament. Some say they have personalities similar to carpintes (I have a female which is very mellow) and other sources say they get as aggressive as a typical flowerhorn. Can different specimens vary that much? Any thoughts and experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

I personally have found that most of the time it just depends on the individual fish. Some are insanely aggressive while others are a little more docile. However I will say that the majority of red texas hybrids are very very very aggressive.

My RTH female is the most gentle fish I own. She has teeth like a vampire.. literally her k9s are white with red tips...

She could put a thrashing on my male but she was raised nicely and has never taken 1 bite out of 3 males she spawned with..
