I was wondering if I could keep a senegal bichir and red texas in a 75 with good filtration? My uncle has a juvie red texas and my senegal is onky 4 inches..so would it work long term

i think if they grow together, that's the best chance they have of working long term.is the red texas known for crazy hybrid behaviour? my texasxjag is crazy agressive no way i could keep him with tankmates

No I dont think so. My uncle got them from a friend. But he says there hasnt been any aggression.

What's the size of the Bichir? If it's a few inches bigger then expect the Texas to be food.

The Texas are aibout 2 the bichir about 4

I wouldn't take the chance, maybe divide the tank until the Texas is fatter then the Bichir's mouth. I've had a 3 inch Bichir take down a 4 inch Yellow Lab, they can be quite the predators.

Okay we'll ill check it out and check out the Texas first

The only thing in my tank capable of killing one of my sens was a overflow pipe with no guard over it. Lived through Jags, flowerhorns, red terrors, etc. They're pretty adaptable and sturdy

have 2 x 12" Delhezi Polypturus in my tank with my Vieja and Paratheraps. Largest fish is 10" smallest is 3". My polys have been in with my Cichlids since they were 5", no problems. I have a 6" Ornate in my grow out tank with fish ranging from 2" to 5", again no problems.

Your choice, mine coexist very awesomely.

my senegal has been in the same tank with my larger and smaller CA cichlids for a long time now and i don't see any problem or aggression issue
