I bought this "red" texas, from a guy that told me SHE is a red texas but it turns out it's a HE and i dont know if it is a red texas or not... yet to be seen, the fish is around 3inches... i got a 3inch 100%female parrot fish(dont know if its a kkp or something) and out of the many fishes they paired up and started making a nest and attacking my other fish.... so i separated them lol lets see if they actually breed .... here are some pics
lol come pick it up!! (magnum lol)
yea i know but there suppose to fade to red so maybe he didnt fade yet? dont know lol but he really wants to breed lmao all dark and stuff lol for a week now
ya that one is a red texas, i bought it as a red texas, and this type of regular texas cichlid does not exist =) It has wormy markings on its face, its probably a cross between an Escondido with a Flowerhorn.
I don't think it will fade, faders are used to be dull/grayish color. And you might get a bunch of red texas, since your parrot is quite white, i don't expect any super red texas. XD
Gimme 2 months, i'll show you my srt breeding project.
Your parrot should be a blood parrot, a kkp should be much more red without red spots on its fins.
the parrot had a darker color when i got her and the rest of them i guess its my fish food lol... but yes faders usually are grayish ... once they lay eggs ill remove both of them to secure the eggs
