What is a REAL Red Texas? I see people on here that claim to have a Red Texas but its not even close to Red, its like Aqua Silver whatever. When I see Red Texas, they are all Red from about an inch on.

I want one but havent seen any on here yet, but people here claim to have them. And most I see on other sites are very expensive, not $50 or so. Ive seen them called Big Spot Texas, not sure if thats correct or not.

You can see below a young one and an adult and are both blood red.

The affordable ones are generally closer to orange. A lot of times the photos you see online are altered. You can tell when the gravel in the pic starts to look pink, too. I bet there are some that are truly blood red, but I have not seen any in person yet.

Yes agreed, just a regular texas. Check my post history for some pictures of mine. Its not as nice as the ones you have above though.

my brother has one, but i dont think its gonna get the blood red. i think we just have to hope that we get a crimson red texas.

From what i understand. RT are GTx parrot ciclids.
This is what the breeder told my brother.

That top photo you have up is heavily photochopped.

You can find that same picture that doesn't look to be tampered with if you google image Red Texas and it looks the exact same quality, this particular pic on this thread just isn't good quality.
Also, tons of people are trying to make their own SRTs(including me) but they all come out looking almost identical to eachothers because its hard to find that one fish with the deep red and not the typical Midas,Red Devil or Blood Parrot orange.I'm thinking I'm gonna try a female Syn with my male Tex,see what happens..

A green one shouldn't be called red. You cant throw in "super" on it either. A green one that's bred for RT is only a "possible" Red texas. Can you say it with me?: "POSSIBLE". A visual green one is not a red texas. And "super" is a worthless word applied to its name because everybody and their momma wanna call their fish super even when it looks like turd.

check out my red texas. Just "red texas" is fine. He gets a big head sometimes too.
