Red Texas ?

I picked up this fish today, I was told it is a Red Texas. Red is starting to come through. It cost $15. What do you think?

Yup looks like a young Red tex to me. Definatly female. It will be several months befor her colors fade into red, but she will be a beauty as an adult.
Also it looks more like a cyano, Most red tex look more like carpintis.

How do you know it is a female?

Fins, Body shape, and mouth say female. Plus she kinda looks like a redder version of my cyano girl.

Indeed a red texas. Very nice score locally for only $15. We will need updates in a few inches before anyone can sex it.

I was thinking about buying the other 1 he has, but I think you can only have one by itself in a tank. Its the first time I have seen red texas here in NFLD. I had to have one.
