Hey yall i bought this fish as a Red Texas from Petsmart. it was buried in a tank full of other misfit cichlids. lol
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think this little guy actually is a Red Texas Cichlid. At first I thought he could be a JD, but he's very agressive for a little guy, He kept chasing after my FH and RD who are both about twice his size.
Also i'm not too sure if a its a boy or girl..
The red coloration he has on his gills stays red even when his scales change to a darker brown color and the top of his fins become maroonish as well. I'm just waiting for him to grow right now.
@Rome: Chris knows that a red tex is a hybrid lol. Reason why he said that is because recently people've been buying red tex from various sources but has turned out to be kamfas in practically all cases. Chris was referring to the fact that OP has a real red tex, not a kamfa.

Really? Thanks for the info. But what about the one that petsmart sells as Flowerhorns? the 26 dollar ones. i have 2 of those and they're clearly different than that Kamfa.
