Red Tiger Motaguenese and Jag Cichlid

6" Jag and a 4-5" RTM.. would you do it? From what I've noticed with my other fish, the jag tolerates smaller agressive fish, just don't know if these two similar species can mix?

Putting any adult or young adult CA cichlid...especially Parachromis...into an established tank is just asking for problems. If they grow together that's a different story. Then it's a maybe. What sized tank?

You didn't say what size tank but still it's not the best mix.It may or may not work.RTM tends to be more agressive but the jag gets bigger.Plus most ca don't tolorate their own kind or similar looking tankmates

I think you should go for it, but keep a close eye on them. It may or may not work, but you'll never know if you don't try!

well if you have the opposit sex it might work out. they might pair up it happened with my male rtm and female loisellei..but the only prob was he wanted to mate all the time and she doesnt lay eggs so he beats the snot out of her...up goes the devider....but if its a already has one fish in it try using a devider to get them use to each other ....
