Came across this beauty at my local fish farm today. They keep their fish in the big cement blocks where you see the fish from above instead of tanks so the bright red inmediately caught my attention since all the others were the typical green/black. The fish farm guy said only 2 in the whole batch looked this way and spoke highly of its potential looks. I trust these guys as this is not your typical LFS teens giving advice.

Anybody got any source of Picture showing this coloration as adults? Ive searched already but I cant seen to find any of this variation.

it can be hybrid with pink fenestratus or it is pink fenestratus.

That puts an interesting twist on things... Hadn't considered that.

If its pink fenestraus that would be the first time i see one around.

It Also has some yellows that dont show up in the crappy cellphone pics. From searching around it Also seems to look like alot of the regular Fenestratus since the pink fenes are clear white or pink with no yellows... Its always a longshot with viejas. LFS mislabeling doesnt Help either.

Definitely not a (pure)hartwegi

Get pics of sibblings. It can be midas or parrot crossed to a normal fene too you just never know in this case. So lets see sibblings to know what they look like before loosing patterns to fading

Thats the thing. It was in a Hartwegi tank. There were about 30 regular hartwegi in there, you know, faded green/teal/black. Then i saw this one with the bright red on it and I was confused, and thinking i found something rare an exotic i googled "red vieja hartwegi" and came across this Picture http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=774075&d=1335245606&thumb=1 on the forums. I felt mine was close enough to that and went ahead lol. The guy said only 2 looked this way out of all of them but the other one was gone so i couldnt compare. Im thinking probably 2 fenes were added mistakenly or they were selling them in that tank before.

The tank they use to sell are the inground cement farm squares so its a likely possibility.

Regardless its something ive never seen down here before and I dont know anybody with a pink fene so its still a cool find.
