Hey guys, ive had a red wolf for a month or 2 and he's slightly grown but not really fat/doesnt eat much.

He lives with my bichirs in a bare sand tank.

I'm thinking of setting up a new tank for him to be alone. What size is good for him? i was thinking of a 40 gallon tank.

and also, for diet, he eats tilapia, massivore and smelt. But i think he doesn't really like it. what should i feed him?

Well, I've never heard of a wolf fish turning his nose up at live food. I've had the two my son bought for me a bit over a month now, and they've grown well on a diet of rosy feeders (about 1/ea per night). The downside is the possible upturn in aggression due to live food, and of course the difficulty in providing it regularly (solved this by setting up a little 2.5 gal feeder storage tank). From what I've heard, a 40 should be sufficient for a single red wolf. Hope this helps! Post a pic of him when you can!

a 40 gallon is perfect for a single red wolf! I think your wolf should eat the food you give it.

can multiple red wolfs be house together in a larger aquarium?

From what I've read (and seen with the two I have), it really depends on the fish in question. My two don't seem to be able to get along well. I've got one very aggressive wolf, and one very passive one. There are lots of folks on here who have had success in keeping more than one in a tank, and then there is a lot of info out there saying that they have a lot of conspecific aggression. All you can really do is try, and see what happens.

yes but with important factors. you'll need wolves with peaceful personalities. Get them off live too. You can put 2 wolves in a 75 gallon tank. Maybe a 55 gal will do. You can start from there.
