So finally I am able to put my 6 inch red wolf from my 10 gal back into my 30 gal with two 4 inch senegal bichirs. Is that safe or will my wolf go rambo after being in such a small tank for a couple of weeks. The wolf is supposed to be "nonaggresive" since it has been fed pellets aand shrimp since it was very small. Should I trust them? My bichirs are also fairly aggresive to my wolf because my bichirs began attacking the new wolf when I first put him in. Would the "so called nonaggresive wolf get revenge and kill off the polys?? or should I just switch tanks and put the wolf in the 30 gal and put my bichirs in my 10 gal?

Suggestions would be great. i need as many answers as i can.
Thanks

You bought these fish to be housed together so the only way they can live together is to get used to each other. The problem with doing this in a 3o gallon is that there isnt many places for the fish to run if being chased or attacked. Both fish are aggressive or will be and need much more room if they are going to stay with each other. One day the polys will attack the wolf at the wrong time and with one bite they are done. Wolves can pretty much kill if wanted but some choose not to but they can only tolerate being pushed for so long

I think if you have plenty of hiding spaces, it could work out. A two inch difference might not be enough for the bichirs to be seen as food, and E. erithrynus will usually not be aggressive, except to other wolves (although they will defend their hiding space very viciously).

the thing is, when my bichir attacked my wolf, he just flinched and flicked the Bichirs right off. for that first attempt, they wolf was forgiving. I guess it was just because he was just new to the tank for a few minutes. The next time could be different?.......

my meaning is that when i put my wolf in the tank with bichirs, would my wolf be intolerent after being bullied by my bichirs before???

I would think there might be some initial terratorial fights then things will settle down. The wolf will not take revenge, they live in moment rather than holding grudges. Make sure there is plenty of places to call home, some pipes etc.

Is the 30g 30" in length?

It's a 30 gallon tank of the demensions of 3 feet length, 1.5 feet tall and 1 feet wide. Is It good enough to house 2 senegals and 1 wolf or should I just separate them for wolf in 30 gal and 2 senegals for 10 gals? Ideas please.
