Since they only grow to 8" I was wondering if I could put my 6-6.5" red wolf fish with my SA cichlids. I want to put him with a 12" oscar, two jack dempseys both 8-9", a 12" common pleco & a 7" really fat eupterus catfish. Could this work? There is lots of hiding places in the tank. Will the wolf fish hurt my current fish in the tank or will it be the other way around?
thanks.

It's hard to really know if it'll work or not. My Erythrinus lived with a Salvini pair just fine. The Hi-fin wolf was very docile. My Hoplias Malabaricus lives alone -his temperment is way too aggressive for tankmates. Might be worth a shot, just have a back-up plan/tank in the event it isn't working.

all combos can work for some one at sometime...just when you try it have a back up plan as stated...i have several combos that "can't work" but they are working for me eg. balas, angels, severum, oscars, african cichlids...just be ready for the worst...

The erythrinus aren't overly aggressive. I kept one with RTM and a Grammy. Did fine for months then he jumped out. He actually challenged the Grammodes and never messed with him again.

Go for it you'll be fine.

edit: very responsive fish, btw. Had alot of personality.
