Well in august after a month long vacation came back to find my quarter sized datnoid in my 29 growout had completely disappeared, and since then only had a few plants and driftwood in the tank. Since the tanks in my room i've been thinking of getting a solo interesting fish, but not a cichlid since i have a tank full of cichlids as well. I've been thinking of red wolf fish as the solo in the tank since i've heard that they are beasts in temperment, look really interesting, and appear to only get 6-8 inches long would this work out?

30 gallons would actually be perfect. They only grow to less than 8 inches. 10 inches if you are super lucky. I've kept one before. Nice solo fish!

I would feel better about a 40b as a minimum as well. It could work in a 29, but with how messy wolves can be, I think the extra water volume would make maintenance considerably easier. :)

29 gallon tank with good filteration and 50% water changes weekly is good. Besides, it's only ONE fish. Wolves aren't SUPER active anyways.

yo trout, where are you getting the wolf anyways? I'm also interested in getting one!

big als mississaga had some a couple weeks ago for 20 bucks each, i'm hoping that a couple of the 10 or so i saw are still there, my filtration is an AQ-70 and plan to make the tank as green as possible they were around 3-4 inches but the colour was pretty washed out, they were being kept with some full grown JDs
