I would post in the pike section as I asked about this similar. Was advised with caution as pikes don't like elongated fish. Due to aggression/territory issues there may be a problem. Also they recommended pikes from the saxatalis group.
I was going to buy a pike cichlid and see what happens but chickened out after I posted a similar question. Got a lot of doubts and good info from other members. Didn't want to risk my fish. I don't think anyone on the forum has tried yet. I think it can be done with a big tank and lots of decor for hiding and shelter. My red wolf right now is fighting (new behavior) with my teugelsi for hiding spots. The teugelsi is twice the size and had good girth. Doesn't pick on the smaller polys or fish. There are a lot of bite warnings. Good luck if U decide to try.
