Where the sun don't shine
Hello all... great community you have here, I have learned a bunch from reading through the forums. I own a red wolf fish (about 5 inches) that is currently housed in a 20 gallon. He will soon be going in a 90 gallon once it is set up and cycled and i need some ideas for tankmates. I have kept many cichlids in the past so I would like to stay away from those and stick with oddballs or some small catfish. I was thinking maybe a jaguar cat? or chaca chaca? I also like the look of the nandus nandus...would they be compatible with the red wolf?

Welcome to MFK..

I keep bichirs, ropefish and a fire eel with my red wolf in a 120g. They work great together.

I'd stay away from the chaca chaca as they can change the PH of the tank really quickly and that can cause problems for other fish.

Post some pics of your little fella.

agreed.
no chaca cats.
basically anything not too agressive and cant be eaten will be fine.
ery ery are only aggressive to other fish that look alike.

Thanks for the replies guys... I have heard that chaca can lower ph, but did not know if that was really accurate. Maybe i will put one by itself in the empty 20 gallon i'm about to have. I will post some pics of the red wolf this weekend...
