Just wondering what you guys/gals thought the optimal tank setup would be for a red wolf? Mine's sparse at the moment and I want to to look more natural because the tank is in the living room. It's just a smashed terra cotta pot and some anacharis w a fine layer of sand.

any ideas? Pics would be greatly appreciated!

hows the wolfi personality ? I got two with two opposite personalities. One will bite my finger and just stares me down for food and likes to swin around while spends all his time hiding and hides even more the second i enter the room.

both are feeding well in their environments and get along well with tank buds, so rocks plants wood and plenty food of variety.

Thanks! I haven't had any luck with tankmates, my guy is shy but would chase tankmates a lil more than I was comfortable with. Hides alot. finally got him eating nightcrawlers, beefheart, and silversides. Having to shove pellets in the silversides though.

My lil guy hides once he sees someone.
He is eating market shrimp and massivore delight.
I see him little by little swimming around more so I think he is just getting used to his new home :)

Really how big is he, and what did he chase ?

Probably 4.5" without his tail. Chased an adult male C. Cutteri, my female pike, and some mollies. The mollies and cutteri had some torn fins afterwards.

My rainbow wolf's in a 29 gallon at the moment. There's not much in it. In my experience, any ornaments I keep in there he ends up hurting himself on when he's chasing his prey. I had a few rocks in the bottom but had to take them out b/c he kept ripping his face up on them.

Same issue when I first bought him. Had him in the 25 but the footprint on the 20L was bigger. Kept getting dark spots on his face from hitting the glass.
