I was offered a good deal on a 55 gallon tank and I was wondering if 55 would do for Redbelly's? too small?

they are aesthetically near-identical piranha species. The only difference is cariba have a black spot on their gill plate, and nattereri don't. That aside, cariba have a more aggressive disposition.

Pygocentrus natrerrii I spelled it wrong but you get the idea. Someone else will have to find a Caribe for you though.
3 Natt's in a 55g are alright, but once they start getting past 8 or 9in, you might want to upgrade to keep aggression the same as when they where juvi's (if you got them as juvis)
I got a caribe and a piraya in a 55 right now. Both are only around 4-5 inches though and upgrading after the summer.
The caribe is pretty territorial and bullies the piraya and its a job keeping the nitrates under 20 ppms. It can be done temporarily though, you can probably get a year.
