My texas cichlid has a reddish pink growth on the pectoral fin where it connects with the body. Can anyone advise what this is and how to deal with it? The other side is normal. I do about a 20 to 30 percent water change every 7 to 10 days.

pH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 40ppm
Tank temp: 83 F

It could be Lymphocystis or ulcer.
kno4te will be able to help.
In the meantime, increase your water changes to at least 50% or more each week. You want to keep nitrates as low as possible. And best way to do that is replacing the old water with new clean water.
