Only other plans I have in mind are to fill a 5 gallon bucket at the local rock quarry with more of those small river rocks and make the pile in the back left corner maybe 4-5" higher, going up the corner, and to make another pile maybe in the front left up the corner of the overflow.

Thanks. I guess a before would be nice to compare huh? Didn't think of that. I've had it setup quite a few different ways but I think it's the best how it is now. Let me try to find the most recent pics of how it looked before. If I find older ones I'll just put them in the correct order from oldest up until newest. Also, before I had some really nasty brownish greenish algae between the acrylic and the sand. So, BELOW the sand level but between the acrylic and sand. And the sand was turning a dark color. Not positive what that was (I figured maybe just algae from the sand not being siffed around much) but I got my arm in there and stirred all the sand real good and scrubbed that greenish brownish stuff and that made a huge difference. Okay, I'm gonna go find some older pics now...

i like the simplicity of it
Thanks. I'm a real big fan of simplicity and open space in my tanks.

Okay, they are in order of decorating progression. I really think it's come a long way. :)

That's an awesome progression, and I love the usage of the DW as a tree, but the new look looks even better!! So natural

Thanks. I liked that too but I think I like it better in my final setup. I had a few issues with the drift wood setup like that that I'm going to describe at the end of this post. (no point in double typin' it heh')

looks great!

Thanks. That's exactly what I was going for. :)

I really like that!

Thanks man. I feel like my "decorating skills" are getting better as funny as that sounds. Lol. Never thought it would be so difficult makin' an aquarium look good but as you can see from the initial setups it's not as easy as it sounds, lol.

i like the way its setup in the very last picture

I liked that setup too but it had a few problems. It looks real nice in that picture. Fact is that piece of driftwood wouldn't sit like that regular. I had to nail it to a really long piece of slate. The nail was a bit thin for the slate hole and wouldn't go all the way in the drift wood so it would always become loose at the touch of a light water current and start moving around. Long story short it would end up leaning right on the front of the aquarium. You can't tell from that pic but it's leaning on the front on the top right. Also, the rocks would always find their way down the slate so the slate would slowly become uncovered and you could see it through the sand, and the bottom of the drift wood wouldn't be buried, it looked pretty bad when all that happened.. ALSO, it was really hard to get the substrate vacuumed during wc and the slightest touch on that drift wood and it's leaning on the front of the tank, rocks start moving, slate gets unburied. It was just a real burden. Also, it really took up most of the center of the tank. I like how it's nice and open for them now. Oh, and as far as the pvc it was pretty out of place. I put it in there to provide hiding for the ornate I planned on getting but I postponed my ornate for the time being for financial reasons.
