so my dominant pair just spawned recently and now there are wigglers....they are in a 150g tank with 3 other geos and a 12" hiback gold arowana...what are the chances the babies will survive and what do i do now lol...the only spare tank i have setup is a 10g with one guppy and a male betta...how long do i wait until i try to get the babies out...the parents are so far doing a good job keeping the other 3 geos at the other end of the tank..

I personally would let the parents take care of the fry for now they will gain experience from this.
Wait until they are free swimming and you have a growout aquarium to put them in and siphon a few out.

they must have spawned sometime during the week and i never noticed the eggs...i wasn't home most of the weekend and didn't pay much attention to the tank during feeding times...just noticed the clutch of babies today once the 2nd set of lights turned on...should i wait a few days until i siphon the babies out??...should i attempt my weekly water change tomorrow or wait until the babies are out of the tank..i do have a pretty empty 10g tank setup now with just a male betta and one guppy that i can use for a grow out....

If you want to keep them you should siphon them out now. Put them in a small babes bottom tank and grind up some pellets as food. Leaving them may have them picked off overnight especially if the parents aren’t experienced

ya...overnight is my concern..i do have a rock on the other side of the tank not in the pictures...for the past few months i've notice the male always doing the mating dance and kinda figured they would spawn eventually...i'll let the parents fend for them for a few days since it is their first batch and will have to make future plans to see if i can get some grow outs to survive...

You could still still do routine wc. I wouldn't put too many in the 10 gallon due to the bioload that will be produced from overstocking. What type of filter do you have on the 10 gallon? Personally I would suggest seeding a sponge filter in your sump or the main aquarium.

i would most likely setup a 40g breeder to make sure they can grow out properly...i have a 90g running with 2 cannisters and 1 sponge so seeding for another setup is immediate....pretty interesting sight to see the babies in with my aro...
