Hi I was wondering if anyone has ever kept either of these solo. I know they normally are schoolers but so are pacu(sort of) and I have kept those alone. I assume normally 3 or more are needed.

However i feel one of the above by itself would have more space in 48x24x24 since both should do about 15 inches.

rtgg tank mate, and TSN. maybe a florida gar.

i have 2 red hooks with my oscars and royal knife .. they are great .. always out swimming around and watching you when you walk by.

i didnt know they needed to be in schools when i got them and am glad.. i dont think i would have picked them up but they work out great in my tank

does 3 or more make a school. lol or would 2 be enough? what about a mix of "dollar fish" like one of each kind. blackbar, redfin, red hook.

One wont work alone. These are super nervous fish. It will never settle down without a little company.
