REDOING HOLE TANK!!!!!!!!

im going to redo my hole 10g tank and i need to know what to do with the fish is it going to be safe to take all the gravel out and put new in and drain 3rd of the water and wait for all of the finished result to heat up back to normal our should i do it with my water at the full. i dont have another tank but i have 3 bowls but 4 cichlids anf a algae eater and a beta and the beta occupies one of the bulls im more worried about the african cichlids together because they are aggressive to ecother but the other fish are fine.. plz help ive been wanting to make it so theres no hiding places and no territory and just having plants in it ... plz tell.:WHOA:
 
you might be fine but it might also cause your tank to recycle. as for the fish, put them in a five gallon bucket with a powerhead, that's what i'd do atleast.
 
Are you changing from one gravel to another type of gravel ?

If you are, you need to keep the old gravel inside the tank untill all beneficial bacteria are seeded in the new gravel. You can do this by putting the old gravel inside a media bag or any other mesh type - fish safe bag so they don't mix with the new gravel.

Then put all your water and fish in a 5 gallon bucket (don't have one ? get one at home depot). Put the new gravel in, put the old gravel in a media bag in, fill up half with dechlorinated water, wait until temp equalize and put the water from the bucket and your fish in.

Wait about 2-3 weeks, then you can take the old gravel in a media bag out.

lol you definely need to go bigger

most cichlids will get to atleast 5 inches, and if u have a common pleco it can get over 1 feet long. A bigger tank will decrease agression, look better, and your fish will like u more.
