So I had recently joined the form and got some much needed knowledge on the fish I was currently owning in my 105g. Ranging from clown knife fish, oscars, alligator gars. Was greatly over stocked. I did indeed sell all my giants :( I was in love but simply was better for the fish. During that period I was raising a peacock bass with a discus. Yes I know that's not usually done but they were both babies at the time and surprising have been buddies ever since. After getting rid of my giants I put just my discus and peacock into the 105 gallon tank. Yes I know peacock bass will need 300g minimum but I'll cross that road when the time comes. I then added 3 large angel fish, one more discus ( a few more in the way just were sod out at my LFS) and a baby tire track eel and a bristle nose pleco. Thoughts on this tank? I soon want to get rid of my peacock bass so I can have smaller type fish because as PBs are, they can eat anything they get into their mouth. Pls lmk your opinion and thoughts and I'll post a few pics when I get a chance. Thank you.

I say you get rid of your pbass now n save yourself the trouble. Same with the silver dollars and instead add a school of dither fish maybe neon tetras or smaller schooling fish. Maybe even some corys to clean up the bottom of your tank

None of those will survive a growing tire track eel.

OP, all sounds like you are headed in a great direction. Like mentioned, getting rid of the peacock bass is probably a pretty good idea at this point. Also, if you can, go ahead and get rid of the silver dollars and add 3-4 more discus.

As for the tire track eel, they can hit 30-40" within 2-4 years. It will need a bigger tank within the next two years at the most, maybe sooner.

Otherwise, everything is looking pretty good.

Is the size the only issue with the tire track eel? Or will he become aggressive? Also, what's the problem with silver dollars? They seem to get along with all my fish and even brought my discus out more and they hang with each other. I do indeed intend to get at least 4 more discus. As for the smaller fish, my tank has an over flow into the back and I worry that the fish will swim into it if small enough and go into my filter under the tank. ( lost my fire eel that way)

Get rid of the eel and the peacock bass lol .. if you want smaller fish 2ft fish don't make good tank buddies .. you've gone for one of the smaller calmer silver dollars so they will be fine .. although your plants might not survive long unless you keep adding lettuce .. failing that the pb will eat everything and you won't have to worry lol

I've had my eel for awhile he's at about 6 inches, my PB is also about 5-6 inche. The angels that I do have a very large, although the biggest seems kinda aggressive towards the other two at points, I will defiantly be getting rid of the PB sadly And the plants have been dying since I had them, I've gotta new lighting hoods, changed carbon, I've been thinking about getting rid of them but they give a very nice look to the tank. And I take it the silver dollars will eat my plants lol?
