I was just wondering what their growth rate is. And if there is anything special that they need. I would also be putting it in a 40gal glass cage, how long would this suit the boa?

no one? i read about 3-5ft the first year. is this correct? Just need my other question answered now.
My female boa was born 06/05/08. And is now 5.5-6 feet long. Never power fed her or anything, just weekly feedings.
If your 40 gallon tank is 36" long, I would not keep a boa more then 4 feet in there. I keep mine in a 100 gallon long 72x18x18. I always like letting my snakes strech out.

Yeah it's 36"x24". I'm building a plywood tank that will be about 200 gal. So long run will be fine. Just wanting to know how long he will be okay in the 40

thank youThat will be perfect then. I'm gonna start building the tank right after school lets out, so in a month.
My big one that died last fall from mouth rot was pushing 7 feet at about 2 years old. The one I just got is about 2 feet at about 6 months old.
