Not only do smaller redtails look like cartoons characters, eat out of your hand, and nip at FL gars that are twice the size, but they also do this...
I woke up this morning and for the life of me could not find him. My 125 is barebottom for the time being with a 3D background, 1 powerhead, FX5 intake, and a spray bar. So I'm looking trying to find him and I just can't. So I checked the gars to see if they were bloated, nope. So in the inch gap between the bottom and bottom of the background I see his whisker, and then his head before he swims back up into his new hiding spot. I don't know if my silicone didn't hold or if he broke it away but theres a gap behind my background big enough for a 5" RTC. He's not stuck because he comes in and out. I put a big boulder in front of the background but it gets pushed away. So I may have to take out the background for the time being because god knows what can get up behind there.
But man do these fish do some awesome stuff. Like eating 4" orinos!
Just thought I'd share. I didn't get any pics of him peaking out because my mind wasn't on my camera haha.
