Redtail catfish

How often does your redtail shed mine does it all the time is something wrong with my setup its in a 125 gallon it seems to be doing fine swims and eats okay.thanks

How big is it? It could be due to being crampt or water quality.

Check your water ..... I had a lima that used to do that but i found out it was because my Ph was all messed up...

Its about 8" the ph is around 6.8 stays stable running 2 filters fx-5 fluval. proclear wet/dry 175 waters good? 0 nitrate 0 amonnia

how old is the tank?..you need to have some nitrates in there...

Thats usually a sign of stress. Something isnt to his likeing. My new little guy sheds when he is he overfed, go figure

He's talking about the slime coat. Catfish don't have scales. They shed it when stressed or when ammonia is present.
