Yes. Many noobs keep 3 in a 10G. DO NOT listen to petsparadise.
What do you consider 'big'? You could keep 1 in a 12ftx4ft minimum tank or pond. Two RTC's would make the tank 18ftx4ft min.

By the way, where do you get cheap RTC's in australia?

By tank do you mean a pond. . . .:naughty: ? RTC get enormous. It would be easier (and I say that lightly) to simply house one in a large tank 200 gallon if not bigger. . . But let the Cat experts chime in. . .

They can grow to upwards of 52" easily. In the first year alone mine went from 4" to 18"

if you have a big pond then you could keep a few don't try two they will fight and can kill each other but a group of 3-4 in a big pond could work it woul take alot to feed three 4 foot red tails so think about it first there a big responsibility

i duno i ve kept 2 of my RTCs together in my pond for more than 3 years. they seem to fight a little bit only during feeding time but other than that they seem pretty tame. when they reach a large enuf size (ie. mine r both over 3 feet) then they cant really do much dmg to each other due to their large bulk and armour. only a couple of battle scars here and there but nothing serious. baby RTCs on the other may be able to kill each other :s
