i am confused :confused:on what other fish i can put with my 4-5" peacock bass i already know im going to get two redtail payara but would a red tailed barracuda get along or a gar could someone please help me?

More than likely your bass will outcompete the others for food. You will have a fat bass, hungry fish, and a bitter taste towards the amount of money being spent to plug up the bass long enough to get food to the other fish. Growth rates of the fish mentioned are all over the charts.....meaning they will all grow at different rates. The cuda will have to be huge not to be eaten by the bass or punked by payara...... I'de do some more research on this site using the "search" function before setting in stone what you will be putting in with the bass.

my bass is on hikari cichlid floating pellets already and only eats very little live fish i have him already with a redtailed cat that only gets sinking pellets every other day so not to over feed him ive had the bass with a arowana and H gigas payara but my softshell turtle ate the arowana and payara so i got rid of the turtle my bass also only bullys other bass and live food ive had him with two other bass that also got eaten by that evil turtle he was either afraid of the other fish or were just bigger than him and the payara im thinking of getting will be the same size as the H gigus i had and unfortunetly lost at about 5 to 6 inches so i dont think i will have any problems and does anyone know if i need a permit to keep gar?

There are stickies about whats legal where..... As far as advise......it sounds like you have it covered.... Good luck with the payara.

Let me start off with, I can make you a permit for the Gar:grinno:.J/K it dont matter... illegal is illegal

Pbass grow rather fast and to house a Tat (red tail payara) with a pbass youll have to get a large tat atleast 3"+ than your Pbass. With that, Tats attack food much slower than Pbass so he will slow down on his growth on top of his super light-speed turtle growing skills. I had 3 and they probly shrink faster than they grow. In the end with the Pbasses lips and as thin as Tats are (narrow) I think youll end up with an expensive feeder:D

try something that gets as big and eats as much and grows like Pbas... maybe Chinese Perch? They look cool and I think they would hang real good with Pbass...JMO

dude with the pbass get a pike cichlid like a xingu 1, sveni, johanna, any of them species grow fast and can definatly ang with a pbass. least mine could he bullies around 2 jag cichlids an oscar and 3 firemouths
