I recently purchased my third reed fish after not being able to find them locally for quite a long time. The one I purchased last week is my largest. Having housed my original for quite some time and another small one for a month or so and no escapes..., I was confident my tank was secure. NOPE. Came home today after 6 hours to find the new reed fish several feet from the tank, looking a little rough to say the least. I cannot say for sure how many hours it was out, but thankfully it seems to be OK. Gasping a bit more than normal I would say, like its eating sort of....stressed out for sure!
I have to get some new back gap panels for my tank...the originals are sad with many holes from my various evolutions in equipment...To date I have used black electrical tape top and bottom to eliminate the holes, its tight to the equipment, but the big guy (12 inches plus) pushed its way through and peeled back a bunch of tape. Truly an escape artist! New official name Houdini
