Setting up a 150g reef. Want to seed some base rock with some live rock. Goal is 250 pds of rock. Anyone know how much live rock I should use vs base rock??

It doesn't matter just make sure your base rock is for use in the aquarium don't just grab stuff from outside and put it in there.

It really depends on how long you are willing to wait. Theoretically, a few pounds of liverock could seed the entire system, given ample time and lighting.

2lbs live rock for 1lb base.

doesn't it vary for each set up? A tall wall hugging U shape will have more exposed rock than a mounded rubble pile so it would need a higher percentage of good live rock.

No need to be rude you are a noob. And to completely ask your question pal. There is no formula you usually put the nice LR in view and the base in the back or bottom of the pile.

Ihob, I have known people who should know better do strange things, Including using gravel scraped up from beside a highway, it killed everything.
