does anyone on here do a reef tank with corals and just inverts. i think a pack like this from liveaquaria would be enough to spread the entire tank with inverts.

http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=420+2791+1370&pcatid=1370

theres 350 total inverts in that package for a 120 gallon tank. would someone get there kicks by just having an army of crabs parading around?

One of the first things I kept was a bunch of green crabs from the beach in a 55g, and I gotta say...I miss having them now.

So yes I got alot of *kicks* outta a bunch of crabs parading around. :D

Edit: checked the link, I had hermit crabs in there to before they got eaten, and they were really fun as well.

i just thought that having 250 crabs running around would be cool. id need live rock for them right? and just hope that those snails dont fall over cuz they cant get themselves back up. or do the crabs just crawl all over the live rock?

You dont neccesairly need live rock, per se....just something to provide a habitat for them, dead base rock is fine if you use an additional form of filtration. If you buy that package, ensure you provide plenty of algal matter, else the numbers will soon start to deplete..

yeh i have an invert/reef tank although i recently added fish so i should of said had lol i only just added two but yeh. invert tanks are probably my favourite but in my area it is quite limited. it had peppermint shrimp, venus shrimp and blood shrimp with a few random crabs as hitchikers a few turbos and trochus snail i did have a hermit that dissapeared. it was very entertaining and if i have the $$ ill set up another lol

Get a mantis shrimp and if you live near a beach like me, I stock up with snails and hermits which are food and cleanup crew.

My tank gets at least 6 hours of direct intense sunlight, and is totally algae free except for on the LR, where there is macro and coralline algae.

I'm getting aiptasia though.

i read that you can feed them seaweed food if you run out of algae?
