hahahahah. kind of hard to recommend SPS(small polyped stony) corals to a beginner. species like Xenia are very good choices for the beginner. as well as the Sacrophyton and Sinularia leather or toadstool corals. all of the mushrooms will do good as will a lot of the LPS(large polyped stony) corals like the candy cane corals and the torch corals, hammer corals etc...will do good. if you are wanting to go with the SPS all i can say is get MASSIVE amounts of water flow. and you would only be able to put them at the top of your tank anyways as they need LOTS of light and current. try your hand with the soft and LPS corals first, then get yourself a clam or 2 and then after you can afford a calcium reactor maybe try a few SPS corals. be warned though. SPS or LPS corals may get into wars with your soft corals. the key to reef tanks is stability and compatibility. have fun. reefs are like the ultimate puzzle. they never end.
