Reef Octopus Skimmer BH-100f

I bought this skimmer online and didn't get a manual. After reading around, I don't know if it really comes with a manual. Anyway, I've hooked things up and primmed the skimmer. Things seem to work okay for a while, but then the intake section appears to drop in water level faster than the intake siphon brings in water. Eventually, the pump begins to get warm and makes a lot of sucking as it basically is sucking air and water. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong since there is no manual. Anyone have some tips or experience with this skimmer?

Maybe try posting on reef central. There are a TON of people on there with various models of reef octopus skimmers.

I just ordered a super reef octopus, but I haven't run this brand previously.

Thanks for the info.

I finally got it to work. I had to remove and clean up the intake then put everything back together. There must have been a leak or something that was breaking the siphon.
