I have recently come into a free 180 gallon reef ready tank.
It has 120 pounds of live rock and 5 fish and a WICKED light system.
im hocking the live rock and fish. Now once i have rinsed and cleaned it all can i use it for fresh water?

yes you can. the only problem is if there is come calcium buildup then it will affect your freshwater ph. A vinegar soak will help dissolve the build up and you can then clean it. run it with freshwater for a wekk or so and then do a water change. the tank should be ready and the only thing left to do is to figure out your filtration.

Oh didnt ssay that its pre drilled for sump.
so im just gonna slap something together for the filter.

you have to admit its a sweet deal. 180 lights heaters everything for FREE!!

Wow thats an amazing find.

the sumps not there so im going to make one.
i really didnt make that clear sorry.

the best part about this whole thing, i all costs incurred by it except for fish, food, and chemicals, are not going to be payed by me.

a guy donated it to the school and the administrators were just going to toss it into a storage shed where it most likely would have been destroyed. so i said i wanted it. They said that it was mine to do with what i wanted as long as it was set up at school.

tomorrow with some help from friends, im gonna empty it and move it to the school. then im gonna hock all of the fish and live rock.
