I went to the foster & smith retail outlet yesterday, and tried to buy some aiptasia medication. The guy in the store told me that it was recently banned for sale in the state of wisconsin because of some of the inactive ingredients.
Because I have 5" spotted grouper in my tank, I cant do what USED to control my aiptasia..peppermint shrimp. So Im thinking about getting a 3-4" copperbanded butterfly fish. Any thoughts on how he will get along with the grouper? What happens after the aiptasia is gone? My grouper lived peacefully with a small domino damsel for about three months...and the grouper rarely ever leaves the cover of the rockwork. Ideally the copperbanded would bring him out a little bit more, control the aiptasia, and be a beautiful fish in my reef system afterwords. Thanks for the help.

lemon juice works well. I use a needle applicator and inject it into the stalk of the nem. If you have a large population i would do only a small portion at a time, every other day to avoid and major changes in ALK and PH, as it will mess with them if large amount of lemon juice is used.

Boiling water is another good method, harder IMO to work with.

i didnt hear about any ban's in wisconsin, im sure hes smoking something. My lfs uses joes juice all the time, although im unfamiliar with the ingredients, i cant imagine what moron is using this product for baking or injesting in some way to affect the birth of a child??

I would rather get the fish. If hes going to eliminate all of them, Ill be okay losing a hermit crab or a featherduster here and there. I do have an arrow crab... who the grouper is afraid of, so I doubt he would effect him. The guy at fosters and smith seemed to know what hes talking about. They dont have it in the store anymore, so there must be a reason? Who knows. He said my best bet was to order the stuff online from marinedepot.com. I love copperbanded's and if I could house one in my reef with a smaller grouper, thatd be great. If you think thats not idea. I guess Ill start buying lemons.

the butterfly i had, took care of all of my feather dusters, which was my intent, but after he picked them clean, he stopped taking frozen food, and they are a bear to get feeding in the fist place. Mine never picked on my corals but i didnt have a lot of SPS at the time, so my assumption would be, if he liked feather dusters, he would like my SPS as well.

you can by the 100% lemon concentrate at the store for around 2 bucks and it will last you 20 years lol.

Ahhh. I want one of these soo bad. But... Better to go with someone that knows/has experienced the scenario before. Ill let you guys know if I have a spurt of bad judgement and do it anways. :D
