reef tanks and lids

do you use lids. why. why not simple cheers.

No lid.
they always get salt splash all over them and block the lights.

my lights don;t allow me to put lids on most of my tanks (they get in the way)

also they do cake up with salt and need to be cleaned fairly regularly

Lids because my cowfish could jump out...

Alot of saltwater fish jump
if you provide good water and a comfortable environment they will stay put!!

I use no lid's on my tank's with halides and lid's without for 2 reason less evaporation for the T-5 lighting and I just do a weekly wipe down of the lid bam 2 second to clean. Halide's I don't use lids for the heat exchange reason.
