Reefing systems

I'm going to assume you know what BB do for your tank.
Is the tank drilled? I would opt for a sump with a protein skimmer, filter socks and a fuge.
You will need sand of some type. I personally opt for bigger grain size.
I would go with 20-25 pounds of cured live rock with 50 pounds of dead rock.
The cuc of your tank will help with uneaten food and pests that always come with rock.
I would start with mushrooms and go from there.
I have LEDs on my nano cube and love them, but I have t5's on my 65 fowler and want to upgrade to LED's.
I buy premixed water from the Lfs but I'm going to get a Rodi system to make my own water.
Do you have a idea of stock that is wanted?
Remember to go slowly.
I've lost many $$$ of fish for not quarantining a single fish.

What do you mean by best types of reefs? There are many kinds (e.g. deepwater, SPS, LPS, Softies, Coldwater, etc...)

As a start, make sure you have at least 10x system turnover per hour on your main pump (after calculating head pressure). Then invest in a good light fixture from a reputable brand. Personally I'd stay away from anything made by Deep Blue. Then once you're cycled and stuff you can look into upping your flow, adding a skimmer or UV, etc...

And I'd recommend buying aragonite-based substrate.
