Do you reflect light in your canopy back to the tank? If so, what do you use? Curious about light reflecting paint on the bottom of the canopy lid or some other method.

My 75 gallon came with reflectors built into the light fixture....just some cheap polished thin metal. I really don't notice that big of a difference between that tank and my other 2. I think your best bet would be to invest in bulbs. I haven't really experimented to much though.

white is the best reflector of light unelss you decide to spend the money on custom reflectors

Aluminum foil tape works great. Home Depot has it in the HVAC section.

I agree with the foil, I use it and it makes a noticeable difference. Just make sure you put it in as smooth as possible and shiny side down (because there are different sides).

I was obsessed with this notion of amplifying the light earlier and bought a roll of "mylar" ($20) which has 95% reflectivity, I pit it all around the inside of my canopy and even am trying it now as a backround and I can say that it definetly makes the tank look brighter and my plants seem to like it as well.

As I was wrapping presents for christmas I came upon a roll of wrapping material that looked very close to mylar. and I remember getting it at the dollar store.

I say try the wrapping paper if you are just curious, use spray mount to put it in place.
