Here's what my light looks like underneath, it gets pretty hot. The double light strip have built it fans.
Could I purchase or make a reflector to go inside of my light strip? There only seem to be white plastic on the other side that doesn't really reflect anything.
If I install a light reflector, would I have to much heat around the bulb?

Would I be wasting time and money or would my plants benefit from this from increased lighting?

I would think you could make one. Just take out the bulbs and put some aluminum foil underneath. Just make sure to keep it a little shorter than the bulb that way you don't run the risk of a short circuit. I have never tried it though I just thought of it now.

White reflects light. That is why they use it. Replacing it won't gain you much. Those lights are not the greatest anyway.

ok thanks, I'll just leave it how it is then :)

So when I eventually get my 75 gallon plant tank going, what type of lighting should I use? The T5 Deluxe HO Strip Lights ?

I was just going to get another of the same light strip, but I could always sell it and get something that would work better for my needs.
I got this light strip I have now because it was a more affordable option for me. But my 75 is going to me the tank I really care about creating a Planted show tank.

I will be moving everything from my 29 into the 75 gallon when I do this and will have only 1 aquarium.
