refuge in a fresh water sump?

hi, I use a sump/refuge on my saltwater set up and I am thinking about putting a sump on my 150g.

my question is, do you guys add reuge sections to your sumps?

how do you have your freshwater sumps set up?

still use a protein skimmer?

I have a 90gal fw tank with a sump. I don't use a protein skimmer.. bit I do have a refugium on the sump. It currently has about 16 mangroves growing in it.. Neccessary? no not really.. beneficial? lol yeah! The reason I have these on it is because I go about a month or sometimes longer before I'm able to to any w.c's on the tank other than just keeping the sump water high enough...

If your going to build a sump.... keep it simple for a FW....

I'd look to do maybe a 40g sump on ur 150g. I'd just load it with ceramics and such maybe some filter socks, I kept mine very simple and it works well

for the 90 gal Ive got a 30gal sump which really works out really well for the tank. my params are all perfect with it!
