I'm setting up a Refugium on one of my 4' tanks.....question, does anybody have experience with these units and what plants would be the most effective for a freshwater setup? either fully submersible, bog or floating actual plant names would be helpful....

I had one 18"x72"x8"deep (I had the glass laying around as scrap to make odd size) with water lettuce, water hyacinth and fox tail ('cause they were all free (rescued from a nearby river as they were sprouting, kepting a quarantine pond till I was sure it didn't contain anything I didn't want). Worked very well to polish the water of everything that the W/D didn't. Plants thrived, had to keep culling and giving to new friends.

Water hyacinth works great in keeping nitrates down.

Thank you both , looks like I'll be shopping for plants today based upon your recomendations:headbang2
