Regal angelfish

Has anybody had any trouble with these? I have one that stays back in a cave and never ventures out into the brighter light. Are they that skittish? Or do they prefer lower light? The other angels in the tank still hide but all of the others venture out from time to time? Is this typical of a Regal?

is the regal a new addition to the tank? if so that is normal & give it some time to adjust to its new home but if not, it might be stressed out. check your water quality or if any other fish are picking on it.
