Hello. I have these fish to choose from to keep as a wet pet. What I look for is fast growth rate and interaction. It will be housed next to a midas, but separated of course. Which one of them do you recommend?

Regani and Pearsi arnt really glass bangers. Rather peaceful but full of personality and interactive, but I wouldnt call them glass bangers.
But if I could keep 1, It would probably be a Regani. Argentea are nice too, and can be great wetpets.
Ive never housed a Regani but I would love to have a big breeding pair.

None of those are really glass bangers. Regani are shy and don't have much personality. Argentea are a lot more aggressive but still don't have a ton of personality. Pearsi have lots of personality but are not normally real aggressive.

As stated, none are "glassbangers"; however, full grown regani are insanely gorgeous.
For a single specimen tank, argentea are your best bet in terms of aggression.
Beautiful fish- rivaling regani imo. I've heard that they can be very aggr3ssive to tankmates but I cant speak on their level of interaction with their owners.
My experience with bocourti is that they're oscarish- begging for food and always in your face when you approach the tank. I'd expect the same of pearsi, only bigger.

Have you considered a male hait?

I would definitely consider if I could find a hait. But Im stuck with these fish. What can you say regarding their growth speed? I dont want it to get surpassed much by the midas.

It really comes down to what you want. If I had to choose it would be the Pearsi. Probably my all time favorite fish. Mine is huge right now and i'm trying to breed him with his lady. He's like one of my dogs, seriously. This fish has so much personality and is so interactive with me. It will truely be a sad day for me when he goes. I've had mine for 9 years and he's pushing 14 inches and really thick too. I wouldn't call him a glass banger but he's front and center everytime i go near the tank. A truely special fish.

As stated, none of those are glass bangers or anywhere near that status and in my experience, a midas (and most amph.) will outgrow those listed by leaps and bounds, as well as beat the snot out of them if kept together at over 6 inches or so.

That's like asking which among Uaru, Severum and Discus is the best glassbanger.

Uh, Uaru I guess.... although I have a glassbanging centrarchus. I'm scared to death of him.

Matt

That was very informative. Thank you..
