As in title, what is the best kind of algae cleaner device for the walls of acrylic tanks? Something that can be used regularly and not make new scratches?
Along the same idea, I read various opinions for and against having plecos in acrylic tanks. Some people say they make scratches. What is the truth on that? How about 2 bushy nose plecos on a 6 ft tank? (they would be there not to act as cleaners but because they are cool).
Good or not good idea?

You’d be fine with most pleco, I have 3 12”-15” L24 and I haven’t noticed any scratches. My tank is acrylic. Just get a common pleco you’d be good to go! They do the most cleaning of any pleco anyways.

While the tank is filled, you won't notice the fine scratches made by plecos. I kept a common and dwarf clown pleco in an acrylic tank for 13 years. When I emptied out the acrylic tank to upgrade, there were fine scratches all over the tank. The scratches were so plentiful that not a single inch was not covered on any clear areas. There was no way this was due to my using a acrylic safe cleaning mitt. It was the plecos. The multiple lines were too close to together to be anything but the plecos.

I remember working in a lfs and someone added a Water Melon Pleco and it did major damage to the acrylic aquarium.
