i got a rtc that im thinking about rehoming....how much do u guys think a 13"-16" redtail cat is worth?

It depends on who you're asking. If you can find a private buyer that will actually take care of it, I'd let it go for $50, even though some juveniles retail for almost that much. Sometimes knowing that your fish will be cared for is priceless.
If you're taking it to a retail store and hoping for credit, prepare to be disappointed. It's difficult for most LFS to resell large fish like that, and they just sit around taking up retail space and eating $200 worth of food before they actually move.

not many ppl can house an rtc that big and the person ^ up there is right they will consume a lot of food and a lot of space. I currently have a two incher in a 55 and he eats more than my bichirs.
sorry to tell you but you probably wont get a dime for it. they are like cars only worse. they depreciate. thats really all there is to the matter. you can sell little 2" guys all day long for about $50 but too many people are looking to GIVE them away over a foot long to expect someone to pay for one. dont mean to be rude or burst your bubble. quick question, why are you trying to rehome a 13-16" rtc, didnt you just buy it?

simple case of Someone not doing their research before buying their fish... or basically falling into the "I couldn't help it... it's so cute" group
